Vintage Luxembourgian handleless mug from the Botanica series made by Villeroy & Boch.
The founding of this company dates back to 1748 when Francois Boch, together with his three sons, began manufacturing ceramic crockery. In 1766, he received permission from Empress Maria Theresia to open a factory at Septfontaines in Luxembourg, and, as a sign of recognition, his Faiencerie is permitted to call itself Manufacture Impériale et Royale.
This mug has a Primula officinalis (cowslip) design. The Botanica series was in production from 1976 to 2008. This item is in undamaged, fairly good condition with wear on the rim as well as possible small surface marks. The photographs are a part of the description.
Dimensions: 10cm height x 7.5cm diameter
