A cup featuring flowing Shino glaze, as deep blue as the night, where the glaze flows freely to outline a unique rhythmic texture. Hand-embellished with 24K pure gold, it offers a subtle, understated shine that is hard to overlook. Its stable grip and refined lines add a touch of quality to your tea-drinking moments. One cup, one scene, one state of mind.
The glaze used is Shino, which originated in Mino, Japan, and is a white glaze made primarily from feldspar. Master Yu applies his custom Shino glaze to the pieces, resulting in a warm, soft, and richly layered finish after firing.
The blue Shino-style glaze is achieved by applying blue Shino glaze after the initial bisque firing, then precisely controlling the kiln temperature and the degree of high-temperature reduction. This allows the glaze to flow freely, creating deep, night-like blues, reminiscent of the sky, clouds, or the depths of the ocean, with ever-changing textures.
The final gilding process involves hand-painting with 24K liquid gold (pure gold) and firing it to set the finish; the gold luster is warm and restrained, shimmering amidst the interplay of light and shadow.
Works from yuhuayuart are dedicated to those who cherish details and value quality in life, turning every drink into an experience of enjoyment and a continuation of taste.
Purchase Notice
1. Every piece from yuhuayuart is handmade by Master Yu Huayu. Each is unique, which is the true charm of handmade pottery.
2. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and cannot be replicated once sold. If your preferred piece has already been sold, please send a message to inquire if there are pieces with a similar style available.
3. During the firing process, the glaze flows and distributes naturally; the glaze surface may also develop subtle crackles due to temperature changes, which is a characteristic of kiln-fired works. If you have any questions about a piece, please feel free to send a message.
4. All works are photographed in a studio to present their true colors as accurately as possible. Please refer to the actual product for the final color; color differences are not considered defects.
Care Instructions | Gilded Works
Please gently wipe the gold layer with a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive sponges or hard-bristled brushes, and do not soak the piece in detergent for extended periods. Do not place in a microwave (as the metal may spark) or dishwasher to prevent the gold layer from wearing away or flaking.
Artist | Master Yu Huayu

Creative Philosophy
Master Yu centers his creations on kiln transformation, believing that every piece is a joint creation between the potter and the user across time and space. Every crack and every layer of color will become richer with the user's daily life, becoming a vessel that embodies the "beauty of utility"; making tea not just a simple action, but a continuation of enjoyment and taste.
