Vegetable-tanned leather, as the name suggests, is leather tanned using **plant-based tannins**. It refers to leather that is preserved using the tannic acid from plants. This is the **oldest and most primitive method of leather tanning**. The characteristic of this type of leather is its initial **light skin tone**. However, through sun exposure, time, contact with air, and water, it gradually transforms from light to a caramel colour, or even darker, making your leather goods more beautiful and lustrous with use. The leather we select undergoes **no surface treatment**. Just like human skin, cowhide naturally has **inherent textures and marks** from its growth. Surface treatment is akin to makeup, concealing all imperfections. Therefore, **leather with very poor surface quality typically requires surface treatment**. Our leather, free from chemical coatings, allows us to experience the true texture of the material. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49878372983_98791bbb15_o.jpg Basic Care: Our leather goods are made from high-oil vegetable-tanned cowhide sourced from Italy or the Americas, rich in natural oils. **Special maintenance oils are not required for care.** Furthermore, human skin naturally secretes oils, so **frequently using your leather items is the best form of maintenance.** If the leather gets wet, simply **air dry it in the shade**. If prolonged water exposure causes the leather to become dry, you may apply a thin layer of leather conditioning oil sparingly. **Do not use lotions or petroleum jelly-based products**, as these can clog the leather's pores and potentially damage your item. For everyday storage, keep your leather goods in a cool, well-ventilated place to avoid excessive humidity and potential mold growth. If mold appears, wipe off the surface mold with a dry cloth and use the item frequently to prevent regrowth. // Important Notes // ▼ This is a custom-made product.
