Have you ever set aside clothes with fallen stitching, loose buttons, or unclasped hooks, unable to perform simple repairs yourself, and subsequently stopped wearing them?
In recent years, the rise of fast fashion has reshaped and impacted many consumers' habits regarding clothing purchases and wear. It's regrettable that many garments are perhaps no longer worn, even before they've had a chance to age.
However, regardless of how fast fashion influences our lives, there are inevitably some beloved pieces we wish to cherish or continue wearing daily. Despite the utmost care, clothes will eventually need mending. This includes buttons on shirts or coats that tend to come loose, fallen threads on trouser hems or skirts, holes caused by broken stitching, or even the desire to alter a garment's length, among other needs.
Through various hand-sewing technique modules, this course is designed for beginners with no prior sewing experience but an interest in learning. The objective is for participants to acquire and apply basic hand-sewing and simple garment ironing skills, enabling them to perform simple clothing repairs at home.
This online course focuses solely on fundamental hand-sewing techniques. It includes practical exercises (to build proficiency) which, upon completion, can serve as personal reference samples for future use.
