This is a simply designed and tasteful pouring vessel for sencha tea, made using Shigaraki clay.
This piece was created using the experience gained from learning Ogawa-ryu Sencha tea, and would make a great gift for anyone who enjoys tea.
This pouring vessel is carefully made on a potter's wheel using coarse clay containing feldspar. It is fired at high temperatures, causing the Stone in the clay to melt and come to the surface. There are small dents in the lid and body, which are caused by the Stone in the clay melting during firing. The lid and body have lines to add an accent. The inside is glazed, and fine tea straining holes are carefully drilled. The lids are fitted individually, so they fit perfectly. It is light, easy to pour, and has excellent water flow.
You can also enjoy watching the depth of the color increase as you use it.
