**About the Piece**
This Oribe chawan was crafted through a prolonged wood-firing process. The intense heat, wood ash, and glaze interacted repeatedly, creating a glaze with rich layers of expression. The blue and white glazes blend naturally, resembling clouds swirling in a valley or the subtle currents of the deep sea – each bowl a unique, unrepeatable landscape.
The name "Oribe" originates from the striking tension in its glaze's appearance. The glaze varies in thickness, with natural drips and undulations forming along the surface. Combined with the ash deposits and flame marks left by the wood firing, the piece embodies a rustic yet warm texture, showcasing the unique vitality of wood-fired Oribe ware.
