Theme:『Elegy』 A heart that wants to sink. Words one wishes to hide. A wind that brings tears. Away from the sun, I am in the shadows. Gazing at the air, where beautiful dust motes dance in the faint, penetrating light, I perceive form. ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー The theme for the first collection from the OTUTUMI online shop is 『Elegy』. This collection gives form to the designer's current feelings. Everyone, to some extent, keeps tucked away feelings of sadness or sorrow, without speaking of them to anyone. This inner world is expressed through 『Elegy』 (meaning 'elegy,' 'dirge,' or 'lament' in Japanese). The black *mizuhiki* (Japanese decorative cord) is typically used for condolence money envelopes in Japan and is not seen at celebratory occasions. However, we have deliberately chosen to use only black this time, crafting the pieces not by 'color,' but to be perceived through 'light' and 'shadow.' Although large, they are incredibly light, swaying gently with the breeze like fringe. The motif is a black veil.
