In ancient times, due to numerous uncontrollable factors, potters of successive generations poured their hearts and souls into creating a perfect Tenmoku piece, dedicating their entire lives to this pursuit. Today, with technological advancements, many variables in Tenmoku firing can be controlled. However, Tenmoku remains an exceptionally challenging type of ceramic to produce and master.
