These are SDGs jewelry pieces repaired with kintsugi, featuring upcycled ceramics from Matsuundō-gama (Shōunzan-gama) Pottery, crafted in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Broken or chipped ceramic pieces that are no longer in use are upcycled and meticulously repaired with kintsugi to be reborn as accessories. The concept behind these creations is to bring the beauty of nature and Japan's enduring traditions closer to you, transforming them into modern accessories that connect to the future and unlock new possibilities. We have paired pottery fragments, with a white hue subtly mixed with pale pink, with freshwater pearls in a soft orange shade. Kintsugi is applied to the sides of the pottery fragments, allowing the gold to elegantly catch the light from any angle and impart a sophisticated charm. The accompanying chain is made of allergy-friendly surgical stainless steel with 18K coating, making it resistant to discoloration and gentle on the skin. Instead of traditional urushi (tree sap lacquer), we use a modern synthetic lacquer that is less likely to cause allergic reactions, combined with gold powder (brass powder).
