The inlay technique is inspired by early church mosaic glass, later refined by Italian artists. It utilizes the properties of copper and tin to join glass in various forms. Yi Er handicraft's process for creating vases: After cutting the glass, each side is wrapped with copper foil and then tinned. The tin solder binds the glass pieces together, making the vessel sturdy. The seams are meticulously filled and rounded, drop by drop. An oxidizing agent is then used to accelerate the tin's oxidation, turning the edges black, which adds depth and a refined texture to the overall piece.
