Tenugui are a traditional Japanese product with a long history, consisting of a cotton cloth approximately 90 cm long and 35 cm wide.
Tenugui have a multitude of uses. They can be used as handkerchiefs or placemats, and are even suitable for wrapping items, bento boxes, or water bottles. Framed, they can also become a textile artwork for interior decoration.
In Japan, tenugui have been a daily necessity for me since childhood, which is why I've always wanted to create tenugui featuring my watercolor paintings. Tenugui are light and thin, with a fine yet durable weave, representing the essence of traditional Japanese textile crafts. The texture of the cloth is softer and warmer than paper, making it ideal not only for daily use but also as decorative textile art for interiors (it can be framed or displayed in a textile art frame~). They are also convenient and easy to mail to friends abroad.
