Pei-Wei is a natural farmer living on the East Coast. She cultivates pure food without fertilizers or pesticides, deeply believing that such food brings happiness to people. Every time I listened to her stories about the land, I was deeply moved. Because of her, I came to understand more profoundly that humans, whether aware or ignorant, are all inseparable from this land. I recall one day, I asked Pei-Wei, what does 'friendly' mean? Her answer then was: "For me, true friendliness is not just about being friendly to humans. True friendliness is being friendly to humans, friendly to the land, and friendly to everything in the world." At that moment, I was deeply touched. Because I knew these words were not empty. They had grown, like seedlings planted in spring, steadfastly from Pei-Wei's life. 🌾 "When I take care of the land, I am also taken care of by the land." One afternoon, I followed Pei-Wei to inspect the paddy fields. I walked behind her that day, watching her move along the green ridges, occasionally squatting to adjust the soil around the water outlets. "Inspecting the fields" is a task farmers must attend to daily, regulating the balance between water and seedlings. This balance is a law that has existed in the universe since the dawn of time. In our world, this small group of natural farmers allows this law to manifest, without interfering with nature. Watching Pei-Wei inspect the fields, on that day, just knowing that such a group of people in this world maintained such a beautiful relationship with the land, I felt a magical sense of happiness. Pei-Wei says, "When I take care of the land, I am also taken care of by the land." This reality of laboring on the land allows Pei-Wei to feel her own vitality within it. At the same time, it moves us, who eat her rice, with this same sense of reality. To me, Pei-Wei not only cares for the land; she also inspires souls to embrace this goodness. The world is a little more beautiful because of Pei-Wei's existence. 🌾 About "The Divine Farmer's Sayings" Pei-Wei's words come from her most authentic experiences while working the land. Each time I hear them, it feels like Mother Earth tapping my head and patting my shoulder. Because of this, we all earnestly began to record the words Pei-Wei had spoken, jokingly calling them "The Divine Farmer's Sayings." Although it started as a playful nickname, this term "Divine Farmer" is filled with the profound respect of us, who only "open our mouths" and are responsible for eating. This collaboration between Qing Qing De Dao and Wei Wei Dao Lai is the first time Qing Qing De Dao has printed words not created by the artist themselves. Because I truly love them so much, I want to invite everyone to feel the beauty and strength within these words. And, of course, to support the authentic lives of natural farmers. This collection, which I deeply cherish, was born from the most wonderful intentions. I want to thank each of you who has read this far, thank you for being willing to listen. No matter what, I believe we all have a beautiful heart. May we meet one day in that field of the heart. 🌾 The Divine Farmer's Sayings This collection features eight designs. The text is provided by Wei Wei Dao Lai, and hand-written and printed by Qing Qing De Dao. The paper used is Muffin Paper, evoking a natural, earthy feel. The size is postcard dimensions, approximately 11x15 cm. The colors are carefully selected earth tones by Qing Qing De Dao, beautifully chosen, we believe you will love them. 🌾 After finishing this set of postcards, I noticed the handwriting had become somewhat charming. Thinking about why, I believe it's because the origin of these words differs from Qing Qing De Dao's usual style, leading to a different state of mind while writing. A different mindset results in different handwriting, which was a wonderful experience for me. While writing these words, I once again deeply contemplated the profound meaning within each phrase, word by word. As I wrote, it felt as if they were imprinted on my soul, and I was still deeply moved every time. "We've met on Earth in this moment, so let us exist fully." I will cherish the beautiful encounters in my life, as each meeting helps me understand more clearly who I am.
