Material Description: The 14k gold-plated material predominantly used by mixandfun is created by electroplating a layer of 1/20 14k gold onto a brass base. This is a popular choice in recent years, known for its ease of care, long-lasting color, and significantly more accessible price point compared to solid 14k gold. Solid 14k gold, on the other hand, is entirely 14k gold throughout, containing approximately 58.5% pure gold with the remainder being silver, iron, or copper. In Taiwan's climate, solid 14k gold offers even more effortless care and a more refined color. It's also an excellent option for those with sensitive skin. Specially plated alloy is another material I frequently use. mixandfun carefully selects preferred unplated chains and then specially electroplates them, ensuring the color remains vibrant under normal wear conditions. Wearing Precautions: 1. Always "dress" your jewelry before wearing it and remove it before changing into loungewear. It is not recommended to wear jewelry while bathing, soaking in hot springs, or swimming. 2. For earrings, it is advised to use the included silicone stoppers to minimize the chance of loss. 3. Given Taiwan's warm and humid climate, if jewelry will not be worn for an extended period, gently wipe it with a soft cloth before storing it in a sealed bag. 4. For delicate chains, make it a habit to clasp the ends together when removing them to reduce tangling. 5. For 14k gold-plated, solid 14k gold, or specially plated alloy pieces, signs of wear are natural over time. Your understanding is appreciated. 6. A simple care tip: If you notice any oxidation, don't worry. Fill a bowl with water, add a little salt, and a small piece of aluminum foil. Submerge your solid gold or sterling silver jewelry for about 10 minutes, then remove. It should regain its shine. (Material composition may vary by brand.) It's recommended to start with more affordable silver pieces for this method. 7. Place your solid gold or general alloy jewelry in your palm. Dip an old toothbrush in a small amount of toothpaste and gently brush the piece for about half a minute. Rinse with clean water, and it should sparkle again.
