Brass Care Instructions: Brass has always been a highly favored jewelry material due to its affordability and resistance to fading. However, like silver, brass is prone to oxidation. Moisture from rain, sweat, and even the air can cause its color to deepen over time. While some appreciate this natural patina, here are some tips to maintain its original luster: ♦ Avoid contact with water. ♦ Store in a resealable bag when not wearing. If the luster appears dulled, a few simple methods can help restore your purchase to its former glory. Please note that while color can be revived after abrasion, the original shine may not be fully restored (though the matte, antique bronze look of aged pieces is also beautiful!). ♦ Gently scrub with a toothbrush dipped in a foaming toothpaste or tooth powder, similar to brushing teeth, to restore brass's shine.
