There's a little story behind our decision to represent this brand.
In late 2024, just before a planned business trip to Korea, a sudden lockdown was announced. The restrictions were lifted just before our flight, and we safely arrived in Korea. Shortly after, we found ourselves trapped on a subway car as protest crowds surged, leaving us struggling to breathe and move. We were pressed so tightly, almost floating. We kept thinking, "What do we do? Will there be a stampede?" We continuously encouraged each other to stay calm, find ways to breathe, keep our heads up, and most importantly, stand firm to avoid falling. Fortunately, after a few stops, the dense crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station, leaving us shaken and in tears.
A few stops later, we exited the subway and unexpectedly stumbled upon Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and content postures instantly calmed the tempestuous storm we had just experienced. We, feeling disoriented and frightened, felt as if we had finally found solid ground again.
From the bottom of our hearts, we realized how wonderful it is that cats exist in this world.
Hyejin's cat creations are true treasures.
And so, this unexpected partnership was born. 🤍

Hyejin's style blends modern sensibilities with traditional Korean techniques, developed through slow, deliberate hand-painting.
We are deeply fond of the retro, nostalgic feel in his works, reminiscent of the folk painting scrolls from Korea's Joseon Dynasty.

Each stroke meticulously outlines incredibly fine details, creating works that invite prolonged contemplation.
Creating art with traditional Korean techniques requires immense patience. The artist applies delicate layers of color, achieving rich depth and saturated, profound hues.
Even tiny details like butterflies and grasshoppers are rendered with soul and exquisite detail.

Each painting captures the essence of cats sharing our space. The "unhurried pace" and "quiet companionship" that cats embody are the messages the artist wishes to convey.
Hyejin frequently holds solo exhibitions in Korea and has been creating art for over a decade.

Hyejin primarily draws inspiration from his own cats, depicting them as both mischievous and sharp-eyed, embodying a perfect blend of gentle ferocity and distinct personality. There's a captivating sense of conflict and harmony, a flawless fusion of tradition and modernity.
By incorporating contemporary artistic styles and characters, he portrays animal life and thoughts within traditional art.
He uses Korean paper (hanji), less commonly seen in the market, and fine-line painting techniques. This paper lends a gentle, warm overall tone to the artwork, while the exquisite fine lines ensure intricate detail.
