Let us share our blessings, stay sharp and strong, and just become Bunun - a real person.
An alpine forest base located in the mountains on the east coast of Taiwan was founded by the Bunun people, the only people close to the sea. In order to promote the Bunun culture,
The alpine forest base provided inspiration, egg-making design completed the product design, and Mr. Sai's science factory brought the product into the "AFTER SCHOOL after-school laboratory" DIY hand-making experience, combining the traditional Bunun emotion for knives with the animals that hunters bring back from the hunt. Sharing the culture with the tribe, we created the "Mamangan DIY Hunter Sharing Knife", hoping to arouse everyone's curiosity and interest in the Bunun people on the coast through DIY products.

A rare ethnic group on the east coast - the Coastal Bunun people
Thousands of years ago, the Bunun people climbed to the top of the island, hunted among the peaks, and lived in the cultivated and hunting grounds. They called themselves Bunun - the real people.
Living among thousands of rocks and ravines, surrounded by only a vague sea of clouds; and the ocean is a scenery Bunun has never experienced before, an unnamed blue.
Eighty years ago, in search of better living conditions, a Bunun young man moved from the heart of the island to the border of the island and settled in the shallow mountains surrounded by maritime peoples.
Time has corroded the hunting knives of our ancestors, but it has sharpened the way of survival. The national character of humility and sharing has made their skin wrinkled by the sea breeze, and their eyes can accommodate the waves, making them Bunun people who can go to the sea and understand the Amis culture.

Today, there are a few Bunun people living in the high mountain tribes of Hualien Coast Mountains.
It took the Bununs on the coast more than eighty years to walk from the mountain road to the sea. They remember the wisdom of their ancestors and share it generously, and they will gain more.
They blend into all ethnic groups with a soft attitude, using time to gain a non-scorching edge.
Mamagan, with the time it takes to sharpen a knife, feel Coastal Bunun like the blunt tip of a knife. It is open to everyone, waiting for you to regain its glory;
Then wrap the rope around the knife handle carefully, and focus on tasting the hunter's heart - the ancient and quiet mountain ritual.
Coast Bunun invites you to complete this knife, which is like experiencing a coming-of-age ceremony, paying tribute to those who work hard to survive in the mountains and seas, and practicing sharing in daily life.
Enjoy the richness in exchange for their decades of time stories. Then from today on, let’s become real people together.

<Science Tips>
The Bunun ethnic group, Taiwan's aboriginal people, does not have the term hunter in their vocabulary. They use Mama'ngan tu Bunun to describe hunters as "people as sharp as blades."
Before entering the forest, hunters sharpen their knives and tie ropes to focus on themselves and show their piety. Elders give knives to young people and let them polish and weave them by themselves, which symbolizes some kind of coming-of-age ceremony.
In the traditional concept of the Bunun people, animals returned from hunting must be shared with the tribe, and using smaller knives is better at handling the details of the meat. Sharing represents blessing. Sharing generously will gain more.
