■ About Amber
Amber is fossilized tree resin. The Chinese character for amber, "琥" (hu), is associated with tigers because of a legend believing tigers turn into amber after death. The use of amber by humankind dates back to the Paleolithic era. Amber beads excavated from the Yunotsuka 4 and Kashiwadai 1 sites in Hokkaido, dating back 20,000 years, are considered the oldest known use of minerals by humans in Asia. In ancient Greece, it was called "sun's brilliance/electron."
