Hand-painted with natural urushi lacquer. The process involves 72 meticulous layers of colored lacquer, each applied, polished, and cured by hand. This curing and polishing stage, to achieve a certain luster, takes 3-6 months. Afterward, each stroke of paint is applied by hand. The painting exhibits a rich texture and depth, capturing the essence and form of figures and animals with an expressive, freehand style, distinct from meticulous, detailed artistry. Beyond Mr. Amo's unique techniques, each stroke retains its visible texture, incorporating elements of Japanese Maki-e, allowing the natural grain to still be perceived. Standard lacquered pens present a smooth, uniform surface without visible brushstrokes. The Old Goat natural lacquer paintings, however, reveal the artistry of each individual stroke, with lively lines defining the subject. These pieces are not merely static desk ornaments but complete works of art. Striving for perfection, these pens are not made in Japan or mainland China, nor do they use chemical paints or printing. The Old Goat series opens a new frontier in natural lacquer craftsmanship, creating a new realm for natural lacquer fountain pens through innovative methods. With exquisite artistry, it redefines the aesthetic of fountain pens as both usable and collectible, transforming them from mere writing instruments that offer the warmth of handwriting and the smoothness on paper into desk-adorned art pieces.
Cupid (Latin: Cupido), a special creation by the artist. The Roman god of love, son of Venus, corresponding to Eros in Greek mythology. Often depicted as a mischievous young boy with a bow and arrows, a pair of wings on his back, and a symbol of Western Valentine's Day.

Note: Regularly clean and maintain the pen body and cap interior. When at rest, do not store the pen with the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: When writing, avoid pressing down on the nib or writing at an angle to the left or right. (For right-handed writers, it is recommended to position the nib at approximately the 10 or 11 o'clock direction while writing.) This prevents accidental misalignments of the iridium point, which can cause scratching and ink flow issues. The nib should be regularly rinsed with clean water to prevent ink clogs that may affect writing quality.
Helpful Tip: The antique red copper plated fittings should be regularly wiped and maintained. Over time, with frequent contact with hand sweat, they will oxidize, developing a patina that resembles antique bronze.
