Sophie Paine moved from her native France to sunny Italy, snowy Minnesota and the monsoons of Hong Kong, and married an Englishman. On her way, Sophie left behind accounting and financial reports, taught English to Somali refugees and picked up paintbrushes and crayons. Author: Sophie Paine
Publisher: MCCM Creations
-------------------------------------------------- ----------
MCCM Creations, a Hong Kong independent publishing house, was established in 2001. Its publishing categories include visual culture, architecture, design, art, poetry and picture books. The publishing house believes that the production of books is more than words and images. It is a creative process that integrates imagination, ideas, emotions, experience and craftsmanship; each book is a bond between the author, editor and graphic designer. Cross-genre, bilingual/multilingualism are the characteristics of MCCM publications, just like the city Hong Kong where the publisher is located, complex and diverse. Some of the authors of MCCM are Hong Kong natives, and there are also "foreigners" who have lived in Hong Kong for 20 to 30 years. They accumulate experience and knowledge in their professional fields and lives, which invisibly support the growth of urban culture. Readers can often find various unique visions and methods for reading cities in their books.
