TAPANI (噍吧哖): 3952 Old Goat - Named after the ancient place name of Yujing, Tainan, Taiwan, this is a premium everyday writing fountain pen. Selected ebony wood is meticulously finished with a high-definition, high-gloss process. This involves repeatedly applying and polishing layers of transparent lacquer until the natural pores of the wood grain are completely filled. This process, requiring dozens of lacquer applications, results in a smoother surface that enhances the writing feel and makes the exquisite wood grain appear more three-dimensional and vivid. The finish also makes the pen easier to maintain, protecting the wooden body from accidental ink stains. However, this superior craftsmanship comes at a higher cost. Both the high-definition, high-gloss finish and the natural, non-gloss finish offer distinct charms, appealing to different tastes. The 3952 Old Goat fountain pen is offered with sincere appreciation for your support. The high-definition, high-gloss finish mirrors the luster of premium car interior wood trim, offering a mirror-like sheen and a substantial, tactile feel. While many pens feature simple polishing or waxing, this deeply intricate finishing process is exceptionally rare, showcasing the natural grain in a premium, randomly selected pattern. The pen is adorned with a flame pattern engraved on its airtight cap, complemented by grey chrome plating and fittings, and features a flexible spring clip elegantly engraved with the 3952 brand logo.
The nib is a German Bock #180 (#5) standard titanium nib, meticulously hand-ground and adjusted by the Old Goat artisan into a calligraphy nib. Compared to steel nibs, this calligraphy titanium nib offers greater flexibility and a responsive writing experience, allowing you to enjoy a unique writing feel.

Hand-ground and Adjusted Calligraphy Nib:
1. For the calligraphy nib, it is recommended to start by dipping it in ink for initial writing. (Do not remove the converter installed in the barrel; this prevents ink from flowing back into the pen body after writing.) After a period of writing and familiarizing yourself with the nib's characteristics, you can then use the converter for refilling.
2. The calligraphy nib is an EF tip that has been ground and adjusted to have a curved shape, allowing for line variation not solely by applying pressure, but by the angle of your pen hold. Utilize the nib's curvature to achieve different line widths. Holding the pen more upright with less contact area against the paper will produce finer lines. Tilting the pen at a greater angle or applying slight pressure increases the contact area, resulting in broader strokes. Achieving varied line widths depends on your skill and practice. (Each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent nib damage or misalignment. It is recommended to place a writing pad under your paper for a better writing experience.)
In response to environmental protection, we do not proactively provide paper bags. If you require one for gifting, please specify this in the order notes after purchase. Thank you.
Images are for reference only. The product is a single pen. Some photos may exhibit slight color variations due to lighting and angles; the actual product is the standard.
Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the interior of the pen body and cap. When storing, please do not leave the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: Avoid pressing down on the nib or writing with uneven pressure on the left or right side (for right-handed users, it is recommended to hold the pen so the nib points towards the 10 or 11 o'clock position). This helps prevent accidental displacement of the iridium tip, which can cause scratching and ink flow issues. The nib should be regularly rinsed with clean water to prevent ink from drying and clogging, which can affect writing quality.
