Square Plate with Silver Butterfly Design (White Butterfly b)

This is a square plate delicately depicting butterflies fluttering in the pottery studio's garden in spring. The white butterflies stand out against the subdued black glaze, creating a piece that evokes a subtle Japanese beauty and a sense of the season. This vessel is a square plate formed on a potter's wheel using Shigaraki clay, onto which butterflies are carefully hand-painted and then fired. The soft, slightly blurred edges of the wings express their gracefully fluttering forms. A subtle silver sheen lends an elegant charm to the butterflies. Painting with silver is technically challenging, requiring careful management of temperature and humidity during the process to achieve the final finish. The slightly raised edges make it easy to arrange food, allowing you to enjoy plating that highlights the design. It pairs well with other tableware, regardless of whether it's Japanese or Western, and is also recommended for entertaining guests or as a gift. You can also enjoy how the piece deepens in character with use. 15.5cm x 15.5cm, Height 3.0cm, Weight 230g *Not suitable for microwave, dishwasher, oven, abrasive cleaners, or scrubbers.*
