The Victorian Era’s Exclusive Romance The Victorian era was the peak of the development of jewelry art. The jewelry style of this period was influenced by the Arts and Crafts Movement that emerged in the 19th century. Various Gemstone were used to carry the romantic style, creating Victorian jewelry. In the late 1830s and early 1840s, women's clothing basically covered the whole body, with high necklines and soft hats covering the ears. Therefore, necklaces and earrings were not very popular at the time, so oversized brooches became popular at the time, and people would hang them on their necklines. Hand decoration also became important, and handmade jewelry boxes could be used to hold brooches and rings. Jewelry boxes in the early Victorian era were hand-polished and fastened with thick glass and Bronze-plated lace. They were very popular among the middle class or above for storing jewelry rings, watches and earrings. The fabric inside was goose down, and the colors were mostly red, yellow and blue. After hundreds of years, they would fade, and they were elegant yet had a retro feel. Square size: 12 x 7 cm, without handle Material: Bronze, glass Origin: France Year: circa 1900
