[ Commemorative Bookmarks of Taiwan's Seven Classic Train Stations ]
The wheels of time relentlessly turn forward, never pausing for anyone.
The beauty of the past is often only remembered through books and archives.
Though we hold the convenience of the digital age in our hands,
a sense of warmth and nostalgia can't be replicated by digital content.
Following the footprints of history, we return to the railway stations that connect people and emotions.
The tales of joy and sorrow that unfolded there linger in our memories.
The evolution of these stations mirrors the constant progress of time.
Even by today's standards, the artistic achievements of the past transcend much of contemporary architecture.
We translate this profound feeling into everyday reading.
May this sentiment endure within the grand sweep of history.
Introducing a collection of commemorative bookmarks, celebrating seven classic Taiwanese train stations:
Keelung, Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chiayi, Tainan, and Kaohsiung.
Each station bookmark comes with a postcard and an envelope. The postcard features historical context, a hand-drawn illustration of the station, and accompanying poetry.
The included envelope allows you to share this piece of history with a friend.
[ Kaohsiung Station ]
Kaohsiung Station was completed on June 22, 1941 (Showa 16). Its design, resembling the character "高" (gāo), is in the Imperial Crown style, exuding a majestic presence.
Due to the railway's underground expansion project, the original station, built during the Japanese era, was relocated 80 meters southeast for preservation. It is planned to be moved back to its original site to serve as a landmark once the new underground station is complete.
The current Kaohsiung Station is a temporary facility opened in 2002. Located in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City, it is a railway station for the Taiwan Railways Administration's West Coast Line, Pingtung Line, Kaohsiung Port Line, and the Kaohsiung MRT Red Line, serving as a primary transportation hub for the Kaohsiung metropolitan area.
