As a pet parent to both dogs and cats, my obsession with animals led me to wonder: wouldn't it be wonderful to incorporate the animals I love into daily life, allowing art to be more than just something to admire, but a companion for every day? With this, I combine hand-painting with porcelain, capturing the cute, mischievous, and unique personalities of animals onto plates and mugs. Since establishing my studio in 2014, I have hand-painted over a thousand pieces. Each stroke is applied by hand, ensuring that every creation possesses its own expression and story—truly one-of-a-kind and irreplaceable. Looking forward, Nien aims to continue on this journey of animal porcelain painting, weaving my love for animals into life and letting this small kingdom of animals travel even further. **Starting from a piece of porcelain, keep the animals you love in your life.** https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51960408151_3c8d83bc60_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51960687694_ac70bf7604_z.jpg ## Custom Work Q&A **Q| How can I order a custom piece?** In addition to the original designs in our shop, "Nien" provides custom porcelain painting services, transforming your beloved pets, animals, and memories into a piece of porcelain for long-lasting keepsake. Customization Process: Message Nien, providing the photos you wish to have illustrated, your preferred porcelain style, and any customization requirements. Discuss the composition, text, and details with Nien to confirm the content. Once confirmed, Nien will create a private order for you. Production will be scheduled upon completion of the order. It is recommended to provide clear, well-lit photos that show the animal's facial features, fur color, and distinct characteristics, allowing Nien to capture their unique look with precision. **Q| What is the cost of custom pieces?** Basic custom content includes: **One animal subject + decorative elements (flowers, butterflies, etc.) + custom text** Reference pricing: ・6-inch plate/mug | From NT$1,200 ・7-inch plate | From NT$1,500 ・8-inch plate | From NT$1,900 ・Adding a second animal to the same piece | From +NT$500 Special compositions, complex backgrounds, multiple animals, or other unique requests will be quoted separately based on the actual design. **Q| How long does production take?** Each piece is hand-painted by Nien. From the composition and sketching to the firing and setting of colors, every step requires time to complete with care. General production time is **at least 14 working days**. Actual delivery times may vary depending on the current order volume and the complexity of the piece. If you have a specific birthday, anniversary, or gifting deadline, it is recommended to message us to check availability before placing an order. **Q| How should I care for the porcelain pieces?** To keep your piece in good condition for longer, we recommend: ・Clean gently using a soft sponge and mild detergent. ・Avoid using scouring pads, steel wool, or abrasive cleaning products. ・Not recommended for use in dishwashers or microwave ovens. ・Avoid prolonged soaking or vigorous scrubbing of the painted surface. With careful use and handling, you can maintain the color and texture of your hand-painted piece for a long time. **Q| Is the paint used safe?** Nien uses German-made porcelain painting pigments. After completion, each piece is fired to set the colors. As these painted works are intended primarily as artistic creations and keepsakes, we recommend avoiding direct contact between the painted designs and hot food. Plate pieces are recommended for use as **dessert plates, cold food plates, or home art decor**; they can also be displayed with a stand or as wall decor. Each piece is not just a dish, but a small painting that preserves a story for you. **Q| How are porcelain pieces shipped?** Each porcelain piece is carefully packaged before shipment, using cushioned materials for full protection and boxed in a manner suitable for fragile items to minimize the risk of collision and breakage during transit. Items will be shipped via courier to ensure they reach you safely. * Thank you to Cat's Life Magazine for the interview https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51959458687_933f7001a3_z.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51961027975_bc25138d01_z.jpg
