Overview:
Begin by casting on stitches at the bottom back of the hat and work upwards. After completing the crown, set the hat aside temporarily. Cast on stitches separately to create the brim using a double knitting technique. Once the brim reaches a certain length, join it to the main body of the hat and continue knitting until the required stitches for the brim are completed. Then, continue knitting the brim to the desired length.
Gauge / with 4.5 mm needles:
20 sts x 25 rows = 10 cm (stockinette fabric, measured after blocking)
42 sts x 24 rows = 10 cm (double knit fabric, measured after blocking)
Yarn:
Gepard, Pura Lana, 50% Wool, 50% Alpaca, 115m/50g, color 152. Approximately 3.5 balls used. About 403m.
Needles:
4 mm needles for casting on, 4.5 mm needles for the main body.
Other Tools:
Stitch markers, spare 4.5 mm knitting needles.
