According to the "Abhidharma-kośa-bhāṣya": With Mount Sumeru at the center, surrounded by eight great mountains and eight great seas in succession, the entire world forms a perfect circle, resembling a bronze plate. Mount Sumeru is encircled by the Sumeru Sea, which is eighty thousand yojanas high and eighty thousand yojanas deep below the water's surface. Its base is square, with a circumference of three hundred and twenty thousand yojanas, followed by eight mountains, with seven seas separating each mountain. The names of the eight mountains in order are: Gandhara, Iṣadhara, Merudhvaja, Sudarśana, Aśvaka, Vainateya, Nīmīndra, and the Iron Enclosure Mountain. The names of the first six of the seven seas are derived from the mountains they encircle. Outside the mountains and lakes lies a vast salt sea, which forms the perimeter at the "edge of the universe" around the Iron Enclosure Mountain. The designer at Fulfillment Tree had long wanted to create a pendant inspired by "Mount Sumeru." However, a pendant primarily for decoration felt lacking in practicality, so the concept was continuously refined. Last year, after visiting the Yonghe Temple in Beijing and seeing a Ming Dynasty bronze cast of "Mount Sumeru," the designer gained a more concrete vision of the mountain, finally bringing this "Mount Sumeru" themed pendant to life. This pendant not only carries beautiful symbolism but also offers the practicality of an "accessory."
