Allowing it to air dry naturally can cause the leather's structure to shrink, deform, and harden. 2. To prevent dark water stains if water droplets land on the leather, gently wipe the entire affected area of the leather with a pure water wet wipe, a damp (but not dripping) tissue, or a paper napkin. Use a cool air setting to dry evenly. If only hot air is available, maintain a distance of at least 30 centimeters from the leather. After drying, apply leather oil for conditioning. 3. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. 4. While the natural oils and warmth from your hands will gradually impart a warm, soft hue and sheen to the leather, we also recommend regular care with a dry cloth followed by leather oil. 5. Mold spots on leather develop over time from dust meeting humidity in the air. If storing leather goods for extended periods, first wipe off any dust with a dry cloth, then wrap the item in a dust bag, brown paper, or cotton cloth (you can cut up an old white cotton t-shirt) and store it in a well-ventilated area. Frequent handling of the leather item (to prevent dust and moisture accumulation) can also reduce the chance of mold, similar to the principle of "a rolling stone gathers no moss." 6.
