Product Description

Author: Lam Bun Lee Publisher: Bright Light Culture Size: 150mm x 210mm Pages: 216 ISBN: 978-988-8249-86-2 Publication Date: June 2015 [Synopsis] After retiring from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Dr. Lam Bun Lee continued to teach courses on investment, finance, economics, and public policy. He believes that, "Despite Hong Kong being an economic powerhouse, the general public's understanding of economics is severely lacking. They don't know how to apply economic principles to investment, financial planning, and the analysis of public policies (including monetary and fiscal policies)." This book aims to demystify fundamental economic concepts and illustrate their practical applications in everyday life through an accessible approach. The book is divided into five chapters: National Income and Economic Cycles, Money Supply and Demand and Monetary Policy, Government Finance and Wealth Inequality, International Trade and Foreign Exchange Markets, and Public Policy and Competition Policy. Basic economic concepts are included in the appendix.
