This is an original vessel created by the ceramic artist Shingo Morishita.
The lid was created by the woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to perfectly complement the vessel.
This combination results in a new, complete "lidded vessel."
The body of the vessel has a rounded bowl shape, finished with a karakusa (arabesque) pattern and black glaze.
The inside is also black, creating a beautiful contrast with the unglazed foot.
The deep, rounded shape of the body exudes a wonderfully soft quality.
The lid is made of solid cherry wood and has a smooth, rounded form.
The natural knots and cracks in the wood have been left as they are to highlight their beauty.
The little twig-like knob made of walnut wood is a key feature.
The roundness of the vessel and the roundness of the lid create an incredibly charming atmosphere. The twig-like handle also adds to the unique character of this lidded vessel.
Now, what will you put inside?
