For sterling silver or gold-plated jewelry, when not wearing, try to isolate it from moisture and air. Wipe it clean with a soft, dry cloth or the provided polishing cloth, then store it in a ziplock bag. Each piece of jewelry should be stored separately to prevent scratches from collisions with other jewelry or hard objects.
