They finely grind abundant discarded scallop shells from Hokkaido and mix them with natural limestone. Through a meticulous multi-step process, they created chalk that produces minimal dust. The calcium carbonate (from shells) is denser than lime, significantly reducing dust during writing and also decreasing wear.
