Round chopstick rest with light blue glaze

I combined white clay, which brings out the vivid color of the glaze, with a light blue glaze that I recently introduced to create these plump, round chopstick rests. Each piece is made by hand by rolling and flattening the clay and smoothing out the curves. The light blue gradation created by the different shades of glaze gives the piece a finish that is reminiscent of a puddle. I have a small electric kiln at home and do all the steps by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing and firing. We try to mold them as uniformly as possible in size and thickness, but because they are made by hand, each one is slightly different. We hope you enjoy each one's unique personality.
