Due to the fine tip, there might be a slight feedback on paper initially, which will significantly improve after a period of writing. Ink capacity varies with line width. Awarded Best Product at Paris Exposition in 1889 & 1900. (Demonstration Ink: Lamy, Paper: Double A Copy Paper) Differences Between Vintage/Antique Nibs and Modern Nibs: Thicker metal construction, more refined craftsmanship. Made from original metal (not plated), easy to start writing with, requiring no lengthy break-in period. Superior ink holding capacity, more durable in comparison. Important Usage Notes: 1. No need for flame treatment or scrubbing with a toothbrush before use. 2. Some nibs may have original horizontal or vertical marks on the tip from the factory; these were made before sale to ensure immediate usability and are not defects. 3. If the nib becomes oily, affecting ink flow (e.g., from touching with hands or wax on paper), simply wash gently with soap, rinse, and dry thoroughly before use. 4. Wash and dry the nib promptly after use, then air dry before storing to prevent rust. 5. Minor rust on the pen body does not affect writing; rust on the nib itself will. Vintage and antique nibs are long out of production. All available items are new old stock for collectors, sold until stock lasts. Each item will be thoroughly inspected before shipping.
