The majority of Black Wutai jade, even if considered "icy species," often has a loose crystalline structure with visible grain and abundant internal cotton – which can be either a positive or negative aesthetic depending on its appearance. This is a common issue with Black Wutai jade. However, this jade Ping An buckle is free from these drawbacks. As you can see in the photos and video, it possesses a noticeable moist jade texture within its translucence, with an extremely dense internal structure and no visible crystal grain. The cotton is also beautifully dispersed (meaning it's virtually nonexistent). Yet, I still managed to find a single cotton spot, about the size of a pinhole. Most jade traders wouldn't even bother looking for such a minute detail, but this highlights my stringent selection process, to the point of finding fault in perfection. It's simply the nature of an artist. Therefore, this is a piece of jade with exceptional quality, boasting a substantial thickness that gives it a full, satisfying presence at precisely 5mm.
