There's a small story behind why we decided to represent this brand.
In late 2024, just as we were preparing for a meeting in Korea, a sudden curfew was imposed. It was lifted just before our flight, and upon arriving safely in Korea, we found ourselves trapped in a subway car. Protesters were surging in, pushing us until we could barely breathe and could barely move, almost lifting us off our feet. We kept thinking, "What do we do? Could this turn into a stampede?" We constantly encouraged each other to stay calm, to find ways to breathe, to keep our heads up, and most importantly, to stand firm and not fall. Fortunately, after a few stops, the dense crowd disembarked at Yeouido Station, leaving us shaken and tearful.
A few stops later, we exited the subway and unexpectedly came across Hyejin's exhibition. The cats' languid and serene postures instantly calmed the turbulent storm we had just experienced. We, still dazed and frightened, felt as though we had firmly returned to solid ground.
We truly felt, from the bottom of our hearts, how wonderful it is that cats exist in this world.
Hyejin's cat artworks are such a treasure.
And so, this unexpected partnership came to be. 🤍

Hyejin's style merges modernity with traditional Korean techniques, developed through slow, deliberate creation and hand-painting.
We are deeply fond of the nostalgic, retro feeling in his works, reminiscent of the folk paintings from Korea's Joseon Dynasty.

Every stroke meticulously outlines exquisite details, creating artworks that invite prolonged admiration.
Creating art with traditional Korean techniques requires immense patience. The artist applies color layer by layer with delicate precision, achieving rich depth and saturated, profound hues.
Even small details like a butterfly or a grasshopper are rendered with soul and refinement.

Each painting captures moments where cats share our space. The "unhurried yet present" and "quietly accompanying" demeanor of cats embodies the message the artist wishes to convey.
Hyejin frequently holds solo exhibitions in Korea and has been creating art for over a decade.

Hyejin primarily uses his own cats as his muses, depicting them as mischievous yet sharp-eyed, embodying that perfectly spirited and uniquely individual feline nature. There's a sense of both conflict and harmony, a flawless fusion of tradition and modernity.
By incorporating contemporary painting styles and characters, he portrays the lives and thoughts of animals within a traditional artistic framework.
He utilizes Korean paper, less commonly seen in the market, and meticulous 'Gongbi' (court painting) techniques. This paper imparts a gentle warmth to the overall palette, while the refined Gongbi lines lend the artworks exceptional detail and intricacy.

This warmth, this unique combination, allows contemporary painting styles to integrate seamlessly.
