**Habitat**
At present, Kurume is mainly cultivated in the Gedeo and Guji mountainous areas. Locally, this so-called Heirloom native species is found on many small estates. Since some Kurume varieties have not yet been genetically confirmed, they are currently called Heirloom. In the future, there will be more wonderful coffee stories happening.
**Explosive flavor**
In 2021, the Kurume variety won prizes in a larger proportion in the Ethiopian Cup of Excellence competition. Kurume is a small tree with a top like a large cloak and small leaf veins. When the bean hunter went to Ethiopia, he saw these coffee trees that looked like "tea leaves". Their fruits were also very small, but they had an explosive flavor that was amazing.
Kurume retains the unique floral aroma of the Guji production area, with the aroma of white plum petals, as well as clear berries, blueberries, and refreshing fruit notes. The taste is smooth and clear, with some naughty chocolate and honey fruit notes in the throat. Judging from the excellent cup results alone, this is an Ethiopian coffee with an attractive flavor that is worth trying.
