Our instructor will guide you back to the harbor era of Dadaocheng, explaining how spices arrived in Taiwan with merchant ships and became an integral part of local culinary culture. We will also delve into the origins of mulled wine, a traditional winter beverage, and its significant place on European and American tables during the festive season.
Enjoy a tasting of 5 types of mulled wine, crafted from secret recipes of medieval European kings, royal chefs, jazz lords, and nobles. This experience offers a multifaceted understanding of spice cultures and wine applications across different regions and eras.
During the class, we will explore the art of blending spices commonly used in mulled wine. You'll learn to appreciate their flavor profiles, benefits, and ideal proportions, with opportunities for live brewing and tasting. From simple to complex, you'll create your own signature aromatic blend.
