/Cheung Chau Bamboo Theatre Postcard/
Every year on the third day of the third lunar month,
Cheung Chau residents erect a grand opera stage in front of the Pak Tai Temple,
inviting Cantonese opera troupes to perform in the evening to celebrate Pak Tai's birthday.
There are also free Cantonese opera viewings during the day.
As a child,
I loved to build my own swings in the "little spaces" beneath the audience seating of the opera stage.
