Residing in Taiwan, they currently live in an old apartment in Taipei, dedicating their days to carving and creating stamps. Previously working as an editor for magazines and books in the publishing industry, Chamil now exclusively designs and produces stamps. Each season, they release original handmade stamps. Their collected works, volumes 1-8, feature over 100 unique stamp designs. Chamil has also authored several books, including "A Handmade Life in 12 Hours a Week," "Rubber Stamps, Open the Door!", and "12 Lessons for Beginner Rubber Stampers: Next Stamp Class." Using erasers as their primary carving material, each stamp is meticulously crafted, carved stroke by stroke. Chamil's stamp designs often draw inspiration from everyday life, landscapes and encounters from travels, and cherished interests (such as text, flora, geometry, nature, architecture, and more). These elements are then deconstructed and reassembled, employing intricate layering of lines and planes, complemented by minimalist primary and secondary lines, foreign text, and personally noted symbols to compose the stamp imagery. Chamil enjoys coordinating stamps and colors, orchestrating the interplay and repetition of various stamp sizes, and many of their graphic designs are derived from fragments of stamp motifs, extended through printing and pairing into formats like postcards and washi tape.
