Hexagonal Incense Holder Dish, White, Made in Japan
Crafted from **Seto Ware**, one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, this dish showcases a mastery of glazing techniques that result in a warm, understated texture. The elegant white crackle glaze offers a refined touch, becoming even more sophisticated when paired with an incense stand. It can be used to hold an incense stand and catch ash, or as a decorative piece for small items. (As each piece is handmade, slight variations in shape and texture may occur.)
In 2018, Wesi Cultural & Creative, the sole card specialty store in Taiwan, gained the favor of Shoyeido of Kyoto, Japan, becoming their official distributor in Taiwan. This marks a unique precedent as the only card specialty store globally to become a Shoyeido distributor.
Founded in 1705 during the Hoei era, **Shoyeido**, a renowned incense purveyor in Kyoto, Japan, boasts over 300 years of history. Carried on by the twelfth generation, they continue to craft incense using traditional methods and natural ingredients. Many prominent temples in Kyoto, such as Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, To-ji, and Kiyomizu-dera, use Shoyeido's incense sticks. The incense souvenirs you purchase at these temples are also meticulously made by Shoyeido. All incense stick products are handmade in their Kyoto workshops, following ancient techniques. Shoyeido's entire range of other products, from incense burners to small incense holders and personal sachets, are made in Japan using only the finest materials.
Despite Shoyeido's considerable recognition in Japan and abroad, they maintain a strict policy with only nine directly managed stores across Japan, deliberately avoiding expansion through franchises to ensure the highest quality of products and services. For their overseas locations, they rigorously vet the business philosophy and practices of each distributor, limiting the number of official distributors to preserve their century-old reputation.
While incense sticks do not have an expiration date, Wesi Cultural & Creative places small orders every two months, directly shipped from the Kyoto headquarters to Taipei. This ensures that enthusiasts in Taiwan can enjoy the freshest incense, maintaining optimal quality. Through their collaborative relationship and mutual trust with the headquarters, Wesi Cultural & Creative is one of the few distributors authorized to sell Shoyeido's limited edition overseas incense sticks and Japan-exclusive products.
Consequently, Wesi Cultural & Creative has introduced nine different product lines, encompassing nearly eighty varieties of incense sticks, along with approximately sixty different accompanying items such as incense holders, dishes, and burners. This allows you to select from a wide array of Shoyeido incense products without needing to travel to Kyoto.
