When we wear gemstones, we resonate with their energy. Therefore, __regularly cleansing your gemstones is essential__. It is recommended to establish a habit of cleansing gemstones periodically, for instance, on the 1st of each month or during a full moon (the 15th day of the lunar calendar). There are many methods for cleansing gemstones, which can be found in detail in books and online. While sea salt baths are often mentioned, some gemstones and metals are delicate and can be damaged by salt or water. Therefore, Joyce personally does not recommend soaking in sea salt water. If you have clear or purple crystal chips, geodes, or clusters, you can place your gemstones directly within or on them when not being worn. Naturally, the cleansing chips, geodes, and clusters should also be cleansed regularly, perhaps by sun exposure or moonlight purification. Joyce finds __smudging__ to be the most effective method! Light palo santo, dried cedar leaves, dried sage leaves, or incense sticks, and **use the smoke to cleanse**.
