Staff "Van der Waals" A slender, refreshing staff in verdant hues, an ideal companion for life's meaningful journeys. The name "Van der Waals" is inspired by Johannes Diderik van der Waals, the 1910 Nobel laureate. Despite a background devoid of formal education and classical language studies (unable even to enroll as a full-time student at the city university, attending only lectures), he ultimately achieved immense honor and recognition. The law named after him is the famous Van der Waals force, which describes the weak, non-directional, and non-saturating interactions between molecules or noble gas atoms. These forces are a type of electrostatic interaction, significantly weaker than chemical or covalent bonds, typically with energies less than 5 kJ/mol. The magnitude of Van der Waals forces is directly proportional to the size of the molecule. This staff is not intended for supporting body weight. Total length: 137.5 cm, Width: approx. 14.8 cm Green Sandalwood is one of the world's heaviest woods, exceptionally rich in natural oils. Its color transforms from yellow to green when exposed to sunlight, accompanied by a pleasant aroma; it is also known as Jade Sandalwood. It thrives in environments with extreme climate variations, enduring temperatures from below freezing to 40 degrees Celsius depending on the season. Currently a rare material, it faces endangerment and is restricted from export by Paraguay. When working with Green Sandalwood for sword crafting, artisans often need to intentionally hollow out sections to manage its weight, as it can be excessively heavy. This helps to achieve a more balanced feel. Due to its hardness, processing it is slower and more demanding on tools. If left out of sunlight for extended periods, its color reverts from green to yellow. A 20-minute sun exposure can restore its green hue. Wood: Green Sandalwood (Jade Sandalwood), with a natural aroma. Occasional gentle polishing with white paper can enhance its sheen. If left in darkness for too long and its greenness fades, sun exposure will revive it. However, care should be taken not to leave it in direct sunlight for excessive periods.
