“A HUG A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY” This illustration series was created a few summers ago, when my mother and I were in Beijing. At that time, I was trapped in constant anxiety and unease. Thankfully, my mother was there with me. Many of my worries and fears melted away the moment I hugged her. In those gentle embraces, I found the strength to get through a difficult time — and that experience became the seed for this series. From a cloud hugging the sun, to a bandage wrapping its wound, to a pair of green slippers always supporting their owner, to a bowl of curry rice holding itself close — one by one, these tiny, affectionate objects came to life through my drawings. I’ve gathered their stories into this calendar set, and I hope you’ll feel the same warmth and quiet energy they carry.
