DAPENG BAY: 3952 Laoshanyag - A special calligraphy model named after a famous scenic spot in Taiwan. The barrel is crafted from handmade abalone shell, meticulously pieced together to best follow the natural grain of each shell piece. Each shell piece possesses unique natural patterns and colors. After manual polishing, they are adhered to a brass tube and coated with a thick layer of transparent lacquer, allowing the seams to be felt but not seen. The natural patterns are colorful, dazzling, and beautiful to behold (natural patterns, excellent quality, shipped randomly). This pen is complemented by a custom-turned brass trim plated in gunmetal grey, featuring a rotating airtight cap and a specially designed flexible clip.
This pen is available with various calligraphy nib options for enthusiasts: Rose Gold/Two-tone Calligraphy Steel Nib, and Standard Calligraphy Titanium Nib.
The Rose Gold/Two-tone Calligraphy Steel Nib is a straight German Bock #250 (#6) nib in rose gold/two-tone steel, expertly hand-ground by Laoshanyag artisans into a calligraphy nib capable of producing lines with distinct thickness variations, offering a responsive writing experience and allowing for expressive Chinese characters that showcase your unique taste.
The Standard Calligraphy Titanium Nib is a straight German Bock #250 (#6) standard titanium nib, meticulously adjusted by Laoshanyag artisans into a calligraphy nib that captures the essence of brushwork with varying line widths. It offers a distinct feel, is more flexible than the steel calligraphy nib, and provides a responsive writing experience that allows for richer line variations.
**Gift Set Includes: German SCHMIDT K2 Converter (ink not included) + One handmade black genuine leather pen sleeve by a Taiwanese master craftsman (style shipped randomly) + 3952 Laoshanyag premium gift box packaging.**
Fountain Pen Dimensions: Approximately 150mm in total length, approximately 105mm for the barrel and grip section, with a maximum diameter of approximately 14.5mm (excluding clip), and a total weight of approximately 54g (excluding nib).
Hand-ground and adjusted calligraphy nib:
1. For calligraphy nibs, it is recommended to start by dipping the nib in ink for writing (do not remove the converter installed in the barrel to prevent ink backflow into the pen body after writing). This allows for a period of break-in to adapt to the nib's characteristics before using the converter for inking.
2. The calligraphy nib is an EF nib ground and adjusted to have a curved tip. The variation in line width is achieved not solely by pressing the nib, but by the angle of your pen hold, utilizing the curvature of the nib tip to create different line thicknesses. Holding the pen at a more upright angle reduces the contact area between the nib and the paper, resulting in finer lines. As the pen angle becomes more oblique or with slight pressure, the contact area increases, producing broader lines. The ability to write thick or thin lines depends on your proficiency (each nib has a certain tolerance for pressure; avoid excessive force to prevent nib damage or misalignment. It is recommended to use a writing pad under the paper).
In response to environmental protection, we will not proactively provide paper bags. If gift wrapping is required, please inform us in the order notes after placing your order. Thank you.

Note: Regularly wipe and maintain the inside of the barrel and cap. When storing, do not leave the nib pointing downwards for extended periods.
Warm Reminder: When writing, do not press down on the nib or write with the nib angled too far left or right (for right-handed users, it is recommended to position the nib at approximately the 10 or 11 o'clock direction) to avoid accidental iridium point misalignment, which can cause scratching and ink flow issues. The nib should be rinsed with clean water regularly to prevent ink buildup and clogging, which can affect writing quality.
