Hand-adjusted Calligraphy Nib: 1. For calligraphy nibs, it is generally recommended to first dip in ink and allow it to break in for a period before using a converter. 2. If the converter causes skipping, check your grip angle, ensuring both iridium points land on the paper simultaneously. If skipping persists, check if paper fibers or debris are caught in the nib. 3. Try filling ink by gravity without the converter. 4. Wash the nib thoroughly. If one iridium point is consistently lower than the other, or if excessive pressure is applied, it can lead to misalignment, causing unevenness, scratching, and paper fiber buildup in the slit. 5. Calligraphy nibs are EF nibs adjusted to have a curved tip. Line variation is achieved not by pressing down, but by adjusting the writing angle, utilizing the nib's curvature to create thickness. Holding the pen more upright reduces the contact area with the paper, resulting in finer lines. Tilting the pen further increases the contact area, producing broader strokes.
