The extra part of the brim that was cut off was reattached to the tip of the brim and doubled to create a sense of character and movement. As an accent, hand embroidery is done on the connecting part of the two layers of the hood. The band is made of "BogolanFini", a hand-woven mud-dyed cloth of the Bambara people of the Republic of Mali, and is tied with a rope. The string is decorated with a wooden needle and glass beads with a cheetah pattern.
