Original vessels created by ceramic artist Morishita Shingo.
The lid was created by woodworker Yasushi Shimizu to fit the container.
With this combination, a new "lidded container" was created.
The body of the vessel is formed into a square shape and fired with a red glaze.
It has a soft shape, a vibrant and gentle red color, and a black interior.
This is a vessel that gives a gentle yet powerful impression.
The wood chosen for the lid of this vessel is dark walnut.
The dark, calm color of the wood is used to bring out the color of the vessel.
The shape of the vessel is basically a rectangle, so the lid also follows this shape, creating a roof-like shape. The handle, which acts as a decorative ridge, adds an accent while balancing the whole piece.
A bright red vessel with a lid that looks like a roof.
The result is a lidded container that gives off the atmosphere of a small shrine.
So, what would you put in this?
