Kyoto Five-story pagoda Cultural heritage
In 823 (the 14th year of Kōnin in Japan), Emperor Saga granted Toji Temple to Kukai (later known as Kobo Daishi), and since then Toji Temple has become not only a place to protect the country but also a fundamental place for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism. Toji Temple officially began to carry out activities after Kobo Daishi entered. Under the heavy protection of the court, Toji Temple's main task was to pray for the protection of the country and the imperial family. Kobo Daishi lived in Toji Temple for a long time until he entered Kongobuji Temple in Koyasan in his later years.

Introduction to Kiyomizu-yaki
"Kyoto-yaki" is a type of pottery that has been spread mainly in the foothills of Toyama since the early Edo period, with the background of tea ceremony. On the other hand, "Kiyomizu-yaki" is pottery made at Gojozaka, the entrance to Kiyomizu-yaki Temple. Currently, all pottery fired in Kyoto is called "Kyo-yaki/Kiyomizu-yaki"
This glaze, called crystal glaze, has the characteristic that crystals precipitate during the melting and cooling process, and the beautiful flower crystal (はなけっしょう) ware looks like flowers blooming on the surface. Most importantly, the crystals become larger and take on various shapes, and the same pattern cannot be made, so each piece is a unique work
