|░ Reasons to Love Jadeite ░|
"Jade nourishes the body for three years, and the body is nourished by jade for a lifetime."
While crystals possess powerful energy fields, they require regular cleansing. Jadeite, a natural hard jade, is known for its gentle and soothing properties. Although its energy field may not be as potent as a crystal's, jadeite's inherent energy is exceptionally pure and clean, offering only beneficial influences and dispelling negative energy.
Currently, over 40 minerals have been identified in jadeite. Its chemical composition is Sodium Aluminum Silicate (NaAI[Si2 O6]), often containing trace elements such as Calcium (Ca), Chromium (Cr), Nickel (Ni), Manganese (Mn), Magnesium (Mg), and Iron (Fe).
White: Essentially free of impurities.
Red: Contains trivalent iron.
Black: Contains over 2% chromium.
Green: Contains over 2% chromium and ferrous iron.
Yellow: Contains iron.
Purple: Contains manganese.
Blue: Similar to green, but rarer.
Trace element "Calcium" (Ca) is the most abundant mineral in the human body, primarily found in bones and teeth, with presence in blood and muscles. Calcium is a vital regulator of bodily functions throughout all life stages, from childhood to adulthood and old age, playing a crucial role in maintaining health and longevity. It is an essential macromineral that the body cannot synthesize.
Trace element "Chromium" (Cr) is highly important for maintaining normal physiological functions, helping to prevent cardiovascular diseases, and regulating blood sugar. The body cannot synthesize chromium, requiring intake from natural foods or supplements. It can increase insulin sensitivity in individuals with type 2 diabetes, aid in cholesterol and blood sugar control for those who are overweight, and is lost faster in individuals experiencing high stress. Therefore, these three groups particularly benefit from chromium.
Trace element "Nickel" (Ni) is an essential trace element for the human body. An adult typically contains 6-10 mg of nickel, primarily in the brain and liver. Nickel is absorbed in the intestines, with unabsorbed portions excreted through feces. Only 10-20% of dietary nickel is absorbed by the body.
Trace element "Manganese" (Mn) is another group of trace elements that protect the body. Jadeite also contains manganese. Long-term wear of jadeite can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, alleviate aging, and prevent age-related diseases.
Trace element "Magnesium" (Mg) is another macromineral essential for the body. Like calcium, magnesium is necessary for normal bone growth. Adequate magnesium levels effectively regulate calcium and maintain normal neuromuscular function, acting synergistically with calcium. Magnesium can inhibit platelet aggregation, so deficiency may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, magnesium deficiency can lead to chronic inflammation and is associated with the onset of many chronic diseases, particularly cardiovascular mortality. Some studies suggest that people who drink hard water, which has relatively higher calcium and magnesium content, have lower rates of cardiovascular disease mortality. Therefore, maintaining normal blood magnesium levels can lower the risk of atherosclerosis.
Trace element "Iron" (Fe) assists enzymes in biochemical reactions and metabolism, making it one of the "essential trace elements." An adult typically contains 3-5 grams of iron, with 60-70% found in red blood cells. Other cells also rely on iron for their proper function.
Medical research indicates that jadeite possesses significant therapeutic properties. Long-term wear of jadeite can not only prevent illnesses but also alleviate and even treat certain conditions.
Treating Chest Tightness: Some individuals with weaker constitutions may experience chest tightness. Wearing a jadeite pendant can help alleviate this common ailment. The jadeite pendant emits energy into the "Long Han" and "Shen Fu" acupoints on the chest, providing a potentially curative effect through continuous massage.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory: In TCM, jadeite is believed to "clear middle-Jiao heat, moisten the heart and lungs, nourish hair and skin, fortify the five organs, calm the spirit, promote blood circulation, and sharpen the senses."
Regularly wearing jadeite jewelry allows its trace elements to be absorbed by the skin, aiding in the coordination and balance of bodily organ functions.
Nourishing the Skin: Jadeite jewelry, whether necklaces, earrings, or bracelets, can come into direct contact with the skin. The mineral elements in jadeite are absorbed into the body, nourishing the skin and imparting a fairer, more radiant complexion.
Cooling Relief: The naturally cool property of jadeite provides a soothing and cooling sensation to the touch, offering relief from the heat. During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Guifei would hold jade in her mouth during summer to alleviate heat. Since then, summer has become associated with cool, refreshing days. Jade pillows, bracelets, beds, and pendants are used to combat the heat.
The reasons above are based on evidence-backed claims. Another, less substantiated, reason is that looking at jadeite can provide an inexplicable sense of emotional healing and comfort during times of low spirits or high stress, as if offering solace.
