The surface of the iron-rich clay body is brushed with white slip using a brown brush. The simple, casual brushstrokes and uneven marks create an interesting contrast between the natural color of the clay and the slip. Ash glaze is used and fired under reduction, resulting in a transparent blue-gray glaze that subtly reveals the texture of the clay and slip.

Pottery Care Instructions|
With daily use, your pottery will develop a unique character over time.
To ensure longevity, please keep the following in mind:
. Do not use over an open flame. Can be used in ovens and microwaves.
. It is recommended to soak the pottery thoroughly in water before use and wipe it dry before serving food. This helps prevent absorption of liquids and oils.
. Please wash and dry pottery promptly after use.
. We recommend using a soft sponge and neutral detergent for cleaning.
. If using a dishwasher or dish dryer, please place the pottery securely to prevent it from colliding with other items during operation.
. Fine cracks may appear on the surface after use. This is known as 'kintsugi' or 'crazing' and is a normal variation in the glaze.
. For first-time use, prepare a pot of rice water. Place a paper towel at the bottom of the pot, submerge the pottery completely, and simmer for twenty minutes. Allow it to cool. The starch from the rice will fill the pores of the pottery, preventing future stains and odors. You can repeat this process periodically.

Mountain Dwelling | Earthly Vessels
For us, a well-lived day culminates in a good meal. We find joy in serving food in beautiful vessels, enjoying tea afterward, or warming sake on a cold evening. Over time, these pieces enrich our lives and become cherished companions.
Observing the pottery around us sparked the idea: "Why don't we try making pottery ourselves?"
We aim to create pottery that retains its rustic charm, with a comforting weight that feels warm in the hands. Our lifestyle is reflected in our pieces: the beloved teapot stained with tea, the white teacups developing a network of fine cracks filled with tea color from repeated use, the off-white shallow plates showcasing vibrant green stir-fried vegetables, the matte black bowls making rice appear more lustrous, and the mountain-shaped bowls perfectly portioned for desserts.
Come find the perfect vessel that will accompany you through daily life for a long time to come.
