hand-thrown/wood-fired/teapot/natural ash glaze/flame marks/ideal gift/keepsake - Teapots & Teacups - Pottery Brown

Product Description

Dimensions(LWH)≒14.5*9*9.5cm; Capacity≒225ml;Weight≒225g The teapot with Chinese calligraphy carvings "Wu Wei", featuring an elegant and simple design. The unpredictable interplay of clay, fire, and ash creates unique natural ash glaze patterns and flame marks, making each piece an endlessly fascinating and distinctive product. It is an ideal gift and keepsake. (In Buddhist refers to actions that are free from causes and conditions, devoid of the four phases of arising, abiding, changing, and ceasing) The inspiration for these works comes from the rocky mountains of Shiding (northern part of Taiwan) and its lush vegetation. The artist, Hung Yue, through direct and intimate contact with the clay, creates works that possess immediate visual appeal, conveying a sense of simplicity and tranquility. In contrast to today's fast-paced digital life, the aim is to produce contemplative, emotional, and beautiful yet practical everyday items. Combining white and red clay, these pieces incorporate natural elements such as leaf veins, flower petals, and tree patterns, as well as Chinese calligraphy carvings. The piece is fired for 4 days and 3 nights at a high temperature of about 1280 degrees Celsius, embodies unique natural imagery, including falling ash, flame marks, and glaze variations. Hand-thrown pieces often exhibit irregularities and variations in shape, reflecting the artisanal and individualistic nature of the process. Due to many variables in the firing process, products may have small particles, rough or uneven surfaces and slight deformed rims, which are common in wood-fired pottery. Please carefully review the item before placing an order. There may be color differences between the photos and the actual product; please refer to the actual item for accuracy.
